Andy Halliday has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Andy is currently working at Tenstorrent Inc. as a Senior Principal Engineer since August 2021. Prior to that, they took a sabbatical/semi-retired period in July 2021.
Andy spent a significant part of their career at Advanced Micro Devices Inc., where they held various roles. Andy was a Fellow from July 2010 to July 2021, a Principal Member of Technical Staff from June 2007 to July 2010, and a Senior Member of Technical Staff from the beginning of their tenure in 2003 to July 2007.
Before joining AMD, Andy worked as a DFT Engineer at SiliconAid Solutions, Inc. in 2003. From 2000 to 2003, they were the Chief DFT Technologist at TriMedia Technologies. Prior to that, they served as a DFT Technologist at Motorola from 1998 to 2000. Andy began their career at Raytheon in 1997 as an MGTS, and before that, they gained experience at Texas Instruments as an MGTS from 1983 to 1997.
Andy Halliday attended Putnam Elementary School in El Paso, Texas in 1965. Andy then went on to Morehead Elementary School in El Paso from 1965 to 1972. After completing high school, Andy received their High School Diploma from Coronado High School in El Paso, Texas in 1976. Continuing their education, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from the University of North Texas from 1976 to 1980. Andy then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics at the University of North Texas from 1980 to 1981. Lastly, they worked towards a PhD in Physics at the University of North Texas from 1981 to 1984.
