Diego Scarabelli

Diego Scarabelli has a strong background in data science and engineering, with experience in various roles and organizations. Diego is currently the Director of Data Science and Engineering at Tenstorrent Inc., a position they started in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Cerebras Systems from 2019 to 2023, where they served as the Head of Data and Analytics. In this role, they led a team of data engineers and scientists, implemented a data analytics infrastructure, and fostered a data-driven decision-making culture. Before joining Cerebras Systems, they were a Senior Data Scientist and System Engineer at the same company, contributing to the development of their AI accelerator chip package. Diego also has experience as a Technical Lead at Rigetti Computing, where they directed the micro-fabrication of superconducting qubits. Additionally, they pursued a Ph.D. in Applied Physics at Columbia University from 2011 to 2016, during which they worked as a Teaching Assistant for various physics courses. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Student at NEST-Scuola Normale Superiore/IIT, focusing on quantum optics and spintronics research.

Diego Scarabelli obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Applied Physics from Columbia Engineering, completing their studies from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Condensed Matter Physics from Scuola Normale Superiore and a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) & Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Condensed Matter Physics from Università di Pisa, both achieved between 2006 and 2011. In addition to their formal education, Diego has obtained certifications in various fields, including Deep Neural Networks, Machine Learning, and Convolutional Neural Networks, from institutions such as Coursera and Columbia Engineering.
