Menswear Designer at Tentree

Charlene Becking has a diverse range of work experience in the fashion industry. Charlene began their career as a Wardrobe Intern at Berman & Company in 2011. Charlene then worked as a Fashion Design Intern at Pat McDonagh Couture in 2012. Charlene'sfirst professional role was as a Product Development Intern at Bauer Hockey, Inc from June 2013 to May 2014, where they gained experience in technical specification and package creation, fit sessions, and communication with vendors. After that, they worked as a Junior Technical Designer at Kensie from August 2015 to September 2016, where they were responsible for the development of woven and knitwear products. From September 2016 to May 2019, Charlene worked as a Women's Designer at tentree, where they designed womenswear styles, conducted trend research, developed line sheets, and researched innovative construction techniques. Charlene then transitioned to the role of Women's Technical Designer at tentree from September 2016 to May 2019, where they focused on developing womenswear styles and managing tech packs and production submission. Currently, Charlene is working at tentree as the Offshoot Design Manager, responsible for designing and developing direct-to-consumer products for the online business. In this role, they collaborate cross-functionally and oversees the design process from briefs to production delivery.

Charlene Becking completed their Bachelor of Design degree with a specialization in Fashion from Ryerson University between the years 2010 and 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Textile Arts from Capilano University from 2006 to 2008.
