Matt Anding has a diverse work experience in the field of geology and environmental consulting. Matt started their career as a Geology Lab Instructor and GIS Technician at Texas State University from May 2008 to May 2010. Matt then worked as an Environmental Scientist, GIS, and GPS Technician at Whitenton Group, Inc., Environmental Consultants from May 2010 to December 2010.
In 2011, Matt joined Tetra Tech as a Geologist and Environmental Scientist until January 2017. During this time, they gained valuable experience in geology and environmental sciences.
Afterward, Matt served as an Engineer Company Commander in the Texas State Guard from 2014 to November 2020. Matt led the TXSG Engineers, providing civil engineering and public works support during emergency operations.
In 2015, Matt established their own environmental consulting firm, Anding Environmental Consulting, LLC. As the owner and geologist, they offered customized and affordable Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and GIS mapping services for commercial development needs.
Currently, Matt is working as a Program Manager and Senior Geologist at Tepa Companies, where they provide geospatial and hydrogeologic support for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Air Force Civil Engineer Center's (AFCEC) Emerging Contaminants (EC) Program.
Matt Anding obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Science and Geology from Texas State University in the period from 2004 to 2008. From 2008 to 2010, they pursued a Master's Degree in Geography/ Environmental Sciences at the same university. Additionally, they hold certifications in Corrective Action Project Management (CAPM) from TCEQ, Geographic Information Science Professional (GISP) from GISCI, and Professional Geoscientist (PG) from the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists.
