Bernard van der Westhuizen Pr Eng, GCC, currently serves as the Energy Efficiency and BMS Manager and Program Manager at Teraco Data Environments, leading a team focused on custom client deployments and maintenance projects since November 2020. Prior to this role, Bernard worked at Eskom from January 2012 to October 2020, where responsibilities included reliability-based optimization, strategic maintenance planning, and incident investigation as an O&M Engineer. Bernard's expertise spans various engineering systems across multiple plants, including fuel oil, coal and ash handling, and cooling water systems. In addition, Bernard held the position of GMR 2(1) at Lethabo Power Station, overseeing legal compliance and machinery supervision. Academic credentials include a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and a BEng (Hons) in Asset Integrity Management from the University of Pretoria, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering from North-West University.
