Fernando Monjardin is a seasoned laser engineer with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as a Senior Laser Engineer at TeraDiode, Inc. since November 2019, Monjardin previously held the roles of Engineering Manager and Staff Laser Development Engineer at Coherent Inc. from May 2018 to September 2019. Prior to that, Monjardin worked at TRUMPF North America for over a decade, progressing from Research and Development Scientist to Chief Laser Scientist and Laser R&D Supervisor from September 2007 to April 2018. Monjardin began a career in academia as a Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University from 2006 to 2007, after completing studies at the same institution.

TeraDiode is leading a disruptive change in the High Power Laser market by introducing the first Direct Diode Laser with a beam quality that matches the most demanding applications in cutting and welding. With low power consumption and the highest product efficiency our lasers are also the least costly to manufacture and enable new applications in new markets. Our long term vision is to provide an alternative source for our customer base and to provide lasers in differentiated wavelength bands and with photonic capabilities to enable new market applications.
