John Norman is an experienced professional in the fields of geomorphology, soil science, and quantitative spatial ecology, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Research and Development at Teren, Inc. since June 2018. In this role, John leads the creation of statistical and mechanistic spatial models aimed at inventorying and predicting geohazard threats and natural resource conditions for oil and gas entities as well as federal agencies. With a background that includes a decade at the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, where John was the technical lead for mapping geohazards and soil properties, and a position at the U.S. Geological Survey, John has developed numerous geospatial tools and models over a 25-year career. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and a Master of Science degree in Pedology/Pedometrics from Colorado State University.
