Emmett McConnell

Lead Electrical Design Engineer at Terex

Emmett McConnell has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Emmett began their career as an Electrical Engineer at Terex Corporation, where they designed electrical control systems for mobile tracked crushers. Emmett also worked on control panels, wiring harnesses, and other plant equipment. After completing their Masters at Queen's University, McConnell moved to Australia and joined Terex Jaques as a Design Engineer. In this role, they managed the design of 415V control systems for large projects in Australia and internationally. Additionally, they worked as a Lead Electrical Design Engineer at Terex Corporation, leading teams in designing electrical control systems for various equipment. Before their time at Terex, McConnell worked as an Electronic Design Engineer at Schrader Electronics, where they improved rotational performance monitoring sensors for industrial motor applications. Emmett used PCB CAD applications to design PCB boards with new digital and analog components.

Emmett McConnell obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Queen's University Belfast, where they studied from 2009 to 2014. Emmett also holds several additional certifications, including the "Design of Safety Control Systems According to ISO 13849 & IEC 62061" from Pilz, obtained in September 2023, and the "Mini MBA" from Queen's University Belfast, obtained in March 2023. In addition, they have the "SPA Safety Passport" from the Mineral Products Qualifications Council (MPQC), obtained in October 2022, and the "Agile Leadership and Management, Postgraduate Microcredential" from The Open University, obtained in July 2022. Furthermore, they hold the "Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2018 (18th Edition)" from City & Guilds, obtained in October 2021. Their earlier certifications include the "Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)" from City & Guilds, obtained in September 2015, and the "Safety Design incorporating EN ISO 13849 & IEC 62061" from Pilz, obtained in August 2014.
