Enrico Maria Carlini has extensive experience in the electricity sector, currently serving as Director of Grid Planning, Interconnections and Permitting at Terna SpA since January 2006. In this role, Enrico is responsible for the long-term planning and development of a secure, resilient, and environmentally sustainable national transmission grid aimed at facilitating a European electricity market. Previous roles at Terna include Director positions in Dispatching and Operation, and Grid Planning and Interconnection, focusing on operational security, technical standards, and the creation of national databases for grid simulations. Prior to Terna, Enrico worked at Enel as a Project Engineer in Engineering and Generation & Transmission. Enrico holds a degree from Sapienza Università di Roma, earned between 1987 and 1991.
