Matt Duan

Matt Duan is Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Terns Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Duan brings over 20 years of technical and leadership experience in pharmaceutical science and development, and a successful track record in development and commercialization of drug candidates. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Pharmaceutics & Manufacturing at Rigel Pharmaceuticals. In this role, he led multiple programs from early to late phase development and NDA submission, as well as approval and product launch. Earlier in his career, Dr. Duan held positions of increasing responsibility at deCODE genetics specializing in formulation development and analytics.

Dr. Duan completed his undergraduate study in chemistry at Beijing University. He received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Cleveland State University and conducted postdoctoral study at Rice University.
