Data Engineer at Terrafuse

Elaine Yang has a wealth of experience in the field of data engineering and meteorology. Elaine began their career in 2004 as a Meteorologist and Meteorological Developer at Weather Underground, where they led engineering efforts on design, development and implementation of BestForecast\u2122. In 2012, they joined The Weather Company, an IBM Business, as a Principal Engineer and Data Science Engineer, where they created a platform that quickly grew the Personal Weather Station network from 90k to 300k+ worldwide and designed and created several IoT tools such as ingesting AQ sensor based data. In 2018, they moved to Jupiter Intelligence as a Data Engineer and Analyst, where they performed data ingesting, quality assurance and control, building data pipelines, data analysis, verification and validation and modeling to deliver climate-change risk products. In 2019, they joined Pacific Gas and Electric Company as a Software Engineer and Meteorology Consultant. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Data Engineer at Terrafuse.

Elaine Yang completed a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology/Math from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Elaine then pursued Nanodegrees in Data Scientist and Deep Learning from Udacity, both of which they completed in 2019.
