Alex James

Alex James is a Principal Engineer and Lead in Mechanical Codes and Methods at TerraPower since January 2022, specializing in finite element analysis tools for reactor core thermo-mechanical analysis. Previous experience includes a role as Lead Stress Engineer at Boeing from June 2017 to January 2022, where responsibilities encompassed composite radius bend methods and allowables for aircraft, along with leading a team to support various customer activities. Alex also served as a Stress Engineer and Design Engineer at Boeing, contributing to composite methods, durability, and design updates for the 767 airframe. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Purdue University and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Physics, along with a minor in Materials Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
