Ian Soderling

Ian Soderling is a Mechanical Engineer currently employed at TerraPower LLC since May 2023. Prior to this role, Ian worked at SHINE Medical Technologies, LLC as a Mechanical Engineer III from January 2020 to May 2023, focusing on the design of cooling systems and performing thermal and fluid-hydraulic calculations. Ian's experience also includes serving as a System/Mechanical Engineer at Exelon Nuclear from February 2016 to January 2020, where responsibilities included system management for a Pressurized Water Reactor and maintaining system health through monitoring and inspections. Ian served in the United States Army as an Instructor/Writer with the Department of Instruction from September 2014 to February 2016, developing leaders in combat engineering. Previous military experience includes roles as a Platoon Leader and Company Intelligence Support Team Officer in the 595th Sapper Company. Ian holds a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University, where studies were completed from 2007 to 2011.
