Matt Laney

Matt Laney, PE, currently serves as an Equipment Qualification Engineer at TerraPower LLC since January 2023. Prior to this role, Matt accumulated over 14 years of experience at Flowserve Corporation, advancing through positions such as Product Engineering Leader, Research and Development Manager, Senior Research & Development Engineer, and Research & Development Engineer. In these roles, responsibilities included leading teams in major-project customer orders, overseeing new product design and qualification, managing complex testing programs, and producing technical documentation. Earlier internships at North Carolina State University's Industrial Assessment Center and Duke Energy Corporation provided foundational experience in energy audits and valve verification. Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2008.
