Ryan Sumner

Ryan Sumner is an experienced analytical radiochemist currently employed at TerraPower since October 2023. Prior to this role, Ryan served as a Field Service Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific from July 2021 to October 2023 and worked as a Staff Scientist and Post Masters Research Assistant at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from November 2016 to July 2021. Ryan’s academic background includes a Master of Science in Materials Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, both obtained from Western Washington University. Additionally, Ryan has experience as a Teaching Assistant at Western Washington University and served in the US Army and Oregon National Guard as a Combat Engineer from May 2005 to May 2011, where responsibilities included leadership and mentoring of soldiers during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
