Derrick Nehrenberg

Derrick Nehrenberg is an accomplished entrepreneur and scientist with extensive leadership experience. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at TerraQuest since February 2020, Derrick has developed a platform that incentivizes clean commuting through monetary rewards and carbon offset tokens. Prior roles include CEO at Traildock, where Derrick facilitated the development of interactive mapping applications, and CEO at JuicyTrails, which focused on web applications for trail promotion. Derrick's academic background includes significant postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in genetics and developmental neurobiology, where projects centered on the genomic influences of exercise and aggression in mice. Additionally, Derrick served as an Air Assault Light Infantryman in the US Army from 1991 to 1994, earning the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. Derrick holds a PhD in Developmental Psychobiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Biology from East Carolina University.
