Our continued success is dependent upon bringing together the brightest minds in business with best-in-class cultivation and elevated patient and customer experiences, so we continue to set the standard for the industry.    Sound like weed be a good fit?  Here’s where you come in.     Our next Operations Director will oversee the entire supply chain spectrum, including non-THC procurement, demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, manufacturing, and the retail allocation and fulfillment of internal products. The Operations Director will be instrumental in orchestrating the seamless integration of these processes to drive organizational success in Michigan.   Reporting directly to the President of the Midwest, you will be challenged to work both strategically and tactically to create Supply Chain efficiencies and improve cross-functional operational collaboration across the business unit.

One minute you will be conducting a sales and operations planning meeting. The next minute partnering with the manufacturing and procurement team to implement a new SOP. Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work with diverse teams and stakeholders across the organization.   Where you'll be planted: This is a hybrid position that requires 1-2 days per week in the grow facility. Periodic travel may be required to other locations as necessary. Candidate must reside in Michigan or be willing to relocate to Michigan for this position.

To be blunt, this person will be responsible for:

  • Manufacturing:
  • Ensures the Manufacturing team adheres to current GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices); rectifies and/or reports all non-compliance immediately.
  • Validates all state and local compliance standards are met for inventory, storage, distribution, delivery, security, compliance, safety, and quality control/assurance.
  • Drive Cost awareness and efficiencies, lead efforts around labor planning and staffing levels for the manufacturing facility and actively partner with Human Resources to address those needs.
  • Responsible for managing the budget and overall performance of the manufacturing facility and reporting to the Business Unit President weekly, monthly, and quarterly. Creates and implements action plans in response to performance and proactively addresses areas of improvement and concern.
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit President, Director of Cultivation, and other stakeholders as needed to continuously calibrate the cultivation and manufacturing schedules to meet sales objectives
  • Procurement (non-THC):
  • Lead the creation, communication, and execution of sourcing and procurement strategies to support operational goals.
  • Oversee inventory replenishment resources, vendor selection, terms negotiation, and stock optimization for non-THC products.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels at all warehouses.
  • Provide processes, standards, and training to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Lead sourcing, negotiations, and contract management, leveraging spend, supplier relationships, and market analysis.
  • Optimize supplier relationships and execute cost-savings opportunities.
  • Track orders, manage system lead times, delivery dates, and costs, and provide visibility of potential interruptions.
  • Manage an approved, cost-effective, and optimized vendor base, spearheading vendor base consolidation.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Maintain ERP system requirements and other databases that can be shared cross-functionally.
  • Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and S&OP:
  • Lead the organization and creation of the monthly demand plan, supply planning process, and S&OP process for the Midwest region.
  • Owner of Demand Review, Supply Review, S&OP, and ES&OP meetings.
  • Owner of long-range inventory projections at the allocation category level for Michigan.
  • Support and improve retail fulfillment and product allocation to 20 retail outlets in the Michigan market
  • Analyze weekly growing/processing reporting metrics and report back to the supply chain and other pertinent leadership.
  • Liaise and coordinate between all business functions, including production, warehousing, sales, marketing, finance, accounting, and procurement.
  • Maintain and analyze trend reporting, consolidating state-level reports to the region level.
  • Oversee the management of the Finished Goods Inventory Process and daily Inventory Posting process in the B2B marketplace.
  • Ensure perpetual finished goods inventory accuracy is maintained in Michigan.
  • Enhance and maintain positive communications with sales operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, (Supply Chain) management, or a related discipline
  • 8+ years of supply chain, manufacturing, procurement and/or planning experience, with extensive S&OP experience.
  • Experience Managing Supply Chain in a Multi-State Cannabis operator is required.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams, manage conflict, provide feedback, and develop teams.
  • Experience managing finished goods inventory in a B2B marketplace at the SKU level.
  • Familiarity with LeafTrade or Leaflink, and METRC is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of the role of supply chain within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence others on behalf of the supply chain team's interests.
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Vlookup, Pivot Tables, large dataset analysis).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a team and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to effectively manage customer relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven skills in implementing and leading supply chain excellence.
  • Strong understanding of technology, inventory software systems/ERP, state-required compliance software, and applicable metrics within a data-driven environment.
