Lucas Karas

Lucas Karas is a cheminformatics scientist at Terray Therapeutics since April 2024, previously serving as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Utah from January 2023 to April 2024 and the University of Houston from September 2017 to January 2023. Lucas's PhD research, completed at the University of Houston, focused on the fundamental drivers of organic reactions in both ground and excited states using computational tools, resulting in fourteen peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters over four years. A brief visiting research period at Uppsala University in July 2019 involved exploring the photochemistry of π-conjugated organic compounds. Earlier experience includes a graduate research assistantship at the Federal University of Technology - Parana, where Lucas worked on the conformational preferences of small organic molecules. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Chemistry, an MS in Chemistry, and a BS in Chemistry, all obtained from institutions in Brazil.
