Tim Soignet

Tim Soignet is an experienced law enforcement professional currently serving as Sheriff for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office since July 2020, after holding the position of Sheriff-Elect starting in March 2019. Prior roles include Uniform Patrol Commander, SWAT Commander, and Honor Guard Commander, focusing on daily operations and team supervision. Tim's law enforcement career began in 2006 with various roles at the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, including Academy/Training Director and SWAT Sniper, building expertise in policy compliance and training operations. Prior military service includes time in the United States Marine Corps, serving as an Infantryman and Drill Instructor from 1985 to 2006, along with training in jungle warfare with the French Foreign Legion. Tim holds a Level 1 Peace Officer certification from the Louisiana POST Basic Law Enforcement Academy and has pursued extensive military and law enforcement education.
