Subhamoy Das, Ph.D., has extensive work experience in the field of biosciences. Subhamoy is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Terremoto Biosciences since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Scientist II at Codexis, Inc. from September 2021 to December 2022.
Dr. Das also has significant postdoctoral experience. Subhamoy was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University from July 2017 to August 2021, where they collaborated with Dr. Julia Kaltschmidt on an enteric nervous system project. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Berkeley from June 2016 to May 2017, conducting research on various projects related to aldehyde dehydrogenase sensing systems, reactive oxygen species sensors, and new antibiotics for multi-drug resistant infections in Dr. Niren Murthy's Lab.
Their academic journey began as a Graduate Student in Dr. Aaron Baker's Lab at The University of Texas at Austin, where they worked from August 2010 to August 2014. During this time, they also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow, continuing their graduate thesis research and publishing several peer-reviewed papers.
As an Undergraduate Student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, from July 2006 to June 2010, Dr. Das studied biotechnology and actively participated in various hall activities while staying at the Nehru Hall of Residence.
Furthermore, they gained research experience as a Summer Research Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley in 2009, working under the supervision of Dr. Jasper Rine, conducting genetics and genomics research.
In addition, Dr. Das worked as a Visiting Research Scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research in November and December 2008, studying locomotor activity in clock mutants of Drosophila melanogaster under the guidance of Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, a prominent leader in chronobiology.
Lastly, they also served as a Summer Research Scholar at the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR) in 2008, gaining hands-on experience in small RNA biology under the mentorship of Dr. Beena Pillai.

Subhamoy Das, Ph.D. pursued their education in the field of Biomedical Engineering. Subhamoy obtained their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Subsequently, they furthered their education at The University of Texas at Austin, earning a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) degree in Biomedical Engineering from 2010 to 2012. Subhamoy went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from the same institution in the period spanning 2010 to 2014.
