Dr. Baron joined Terry Reilly in 2013 as its new medical director. He is a board-certified family physician that has been in practice for 19 years, with the second half of his career focused primarily on physician leadership in healthcare administration. He attended medical school family medicine residency in Canada and is a fellow of the American Academy of family physicians and a certified physician executive (CPE). His experience in physician leadership includes quality improvement and risk management, medical staff leadership, chronic disease management, operational efficiency, government affairs, and evidence-based medicine. He was previously VP of Medical Affairs at Brandon Regional Health Center in Canada as well as VP Primary Care Services at Multicare in Washington and served as the medical director for quality and government programs at Blue Cross of Idaho. He served on the Puget Sound Health Alliance and is currently a member of the State Healthcare Innovation Plan (SHIP) steering committee for Idaho and chair of the quality workgroup. He is a promoter of the patient-centered medical home and is a teacher of Motivational Interviewing for healthcare providers. His clinical practice is focused on mental health.
