Matthew Tukaki

Matthew Tukaki serves as the General Manager at Waatea NEWS since April 2024 and holds the position of Chairman of the Workforce Development Council at the Tertiary Education Commission since October 2022. The Tertiary Education Commission/Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua (TEC), is the Government's careers and tertiary education investment agency. We invest approximately $3.2 billion in all forms of post-secondary school education. We fund more than 700 of New Zealand's tertiary education organisations supporting education, training, and research. As of 1 July 2017 our role extends to shaping the future of the careers information and advice for all New Zealanders to encourage lifelong learning. From January 2018 we lead the implementation of the Government's new fees-free initiative. TEC reserves the right to remove any post for any reason.
