Matthew Tukaki

Matthew Tukaki serves as the General Manager at Waatea NEWS since April 2024 and holds the position of Chairman of the Workforce Development Council at the Tertiary Education Commission since October 2022. Tukaki has a diverse background in various leadership roles, including Director of the Board at KEA New Zealand and Member of the World Class New Zealand Network. Tukaki's previous experience includes serving as Director of the Office of Suicide Prevention at the Ministry of Health New Zealand and Executive Chairman of the National Maori Authority Ngā Ngaru Rautahi O Aotearoa. Additionally, Tukaki held the role of Chairman for the Ministerial Advisory Board at Oranga Tamariki and has played significant roles in advisory capacities within Maori organizations. Educational credentials include a certificate in Government Knowledge Management and a degree from Waikato University in Business Marketing, Commercial Law, and Organisational Management.
