Sebastian Cwilich

Founder & CEO at Tertulia

Sebastian Cwilich is the Founder and CEO of Tertulia. Prior to Tertulia, Sebastian served as a Senior Advisor at Gagosian from April 2019 to November 2020. Before Gagosian, Sebastian was a Partner at Aleph Partners from January 2010 to December 2012, where they provided management, technology, and analytics consulting services. Prior to Aleph Partners, Sebastian was with Artsy.

From 2007 to 2009, Sebastian was the Vice President - Commercial & Business Director at Christie's. In this role, Sebastian developed a business plan for the launch of Christie's new private sales division and was subsequently hired as a full-time executive to manage and grow the new division. In its first full year, the division achieved $10M in profit and was subsequently merged into Haunch of Venison, a major gallery acquired by Christie's.

From 2005 to 2010, Sebastian worked as a sole proprietor providing management and technology consulting services. In 2017, Sebastian joined the NYCOO Club leadership council and served until 2019. Sebastian has also been an active member of ProyectArte since 2002 and served as Senior Technical Staff Member at AT&T Labs from 1997 to 2004.

Sebastian Cwilich's educational career includes a BA from Columbia University in a double major of Mathematics and Spanish Lang & Lit. Sebastian also has graduate coursework in operations research and applied mathematics from Columbia University.
