Harley Spring is currently the Director at Terwilliger Plaza, Inc. Prior to that, they served as a Board Member for Metropolitan Family Service from August 2010 to June 2016. During their time there, they also served as the Secretary in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Before that, they were with Junior Achievement of Oregon and SW Washington.
The Standard was Harley's next venture, where they served as the Vice President Retirement Plans Services from January 2010 to December 2017. In this role, they oversaw a team of up to 500 people and a $60 million budget. They were hired on to The Standard to help with strategic repositioning efforts that shifted the business' focus to advisors as the target audience. Some key accomplishments during their time there include developing and launching industry-leading products and capabilities, as well as leading the transformation of a major division after a failed acquisition integration. This was done by restructuring key business processes, moving to functional work models, and implementing multiple performance improvements. Harley was also successful in leading the division from losing money to achieving a 12% return on equity (ROE) and over $35 million in pre-tax operating income in less than 4 years. This was done by coordinating a re-branding effort to support internal and external shift, as well as incorporating Agile methods to drive service excellence and timely deliverables. Lastly, they managed $10 million of operational cost reduction and efficiency by consolidating workflow and realigning office space.
Harley Spring has a MBA from the University of Oregon - Charles H. Lundquist College of Business and a BA from the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business.
