Ji Hoon Heo has a wealth of work experience, beginning with their role as Graduate Assistant/Lab Assistant at the University of Mississippi in 2014. In 2015, they worked as a Developer for Jinius Media LLC, where they developed and hosted over 50 websites across seven states. Heo also held a Summer Internship with The National Press Foundation that same year. From 2012 to 2015, they were the Trailblazer Multimedia Editor and MSU Athletics Video Crew at Morehead State University, providing multimedia content for the school's official online news site and managing the multimedia website and social network. In 2016, Heo became an Instructional Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi, where they developed the drone journalism program resulting in 35+ students attaining the FAA Part 107 license, and co-led a group of students to cover the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Michael. In 2019, Heo became the Chief Executive Officer of TESBROS and an Instructor at Morehouse College, teaching a drone journalism course focusing on the FAA Part 107 license and learning how to fly drones for visual applications.
Ji Hoon Heo obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Convergent Media from Morehead State University in 2014. Ji Hoon then went on to pursue their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Journalism from the University of Mississippi, which they completed in 2016. Prior to their B.A., they attended Hawaii Pacific University, studying Design and Visual Communications, General from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, Heo has obtained two certifications: an Adobe Certified Associate in Video Communication Using Adobe Premiere Pro from Certiport in 2014, and a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2016.
