Alexander Karatarakis, Ph.D., is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Tesla, specializing in Autopilot technology since November 2018. Previously, Alexander worked at Microsoft from October 2015 to November 2018 as a Software Engineer 2 on the Visual Studio Team, focusing on compiler and C++ libraries, and contributed to the open-source tool vcpkg. Prior to this, Alexander served as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Teaching Assistant at the National Technical University of Athens from 2009 to October 2015, leading the development of "Solverize," a software suite for engineering simulations while also teaching advanced computational methods.
