Boran Fan is a Staff Power Electronics Design Engineer with a B.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, earned in 2013 and 2018 respectively. They joined the Center for Power Electronics Systems at Virginia Tech in 2018 as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, advancing to Research Scientist in 2021 and Research Assistant Professor in 2023. Currently, Boran specializes in medium-voltage power conversion technology and aircraft powertrain converters. They are also set to contribute as a Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer at Tesla from 2023 to 2025.
