Chi Li

Chi Li is a skilled professional with extensive experience in machine learning and computer vision. Currently serving as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Tesla since October 2024, Chi Li focuses on leading and building intelligent robotic and computer vision systems within the Optimus AI team. Previous roles include Machine Learning & Computer Vision Engineer at Apple from June 2017 to October 2024, contributing to major projects such as the development of Core ML for 3D Apple Maps and global lane guidance automation. Chi Li's earlier experience includes a Senior Research Fellow position at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering and research internships at both Johns Hopkins and NEC Laboratories America, Inc., where significant advancements in 3D vision algorithms and object recognition technologies were achieved. Chi Li holds both a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University.
