JT Boone

JT Boone is the Deputy General Counsel at Tesla. JT has held this position since August 2020. Prior to that, they were the Associate General Counsel at Tesla from February 2017 to August 2020. In that role, they managed the team of attorneys supporting the company's global residential, commercial and industrial solar and battery businesses, including support for solar and battery project development, construction and maintenance and project-related financing, acquisitions and divestitures.

Boone began their career as an attorney at SolarCity Corporation, where they held various positions from 2014 to 2017. JT served as the Assistant General Counsel - CORE from April 2015 to November 2016 and as the Senior Counsel - Revenue from March 2014 to April 2015. In October 2012, they were promoted to General Counsel and served in that role until February 2014.

At SolarCity, Boone managed the team of attorneys supporting the company's domestic and international commercial and industrial solar and battery businesses, solar and battery project development and construction efforts, supply chain function, and project-related acquisitions and divestitures.

Boone is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
