Michael Wallander

Michael Wallander serves as Associate General Counsel and Managing Counsel for Energy Products at Tesla, providing legal support to promote the transition to sustainable energy since October 2021. Prior experience includes leading solar financing initiatives at Petros Energy Solutions as SVP, Solar Finance, after its acquisition of Petros PACE Finance. As the Founder and President of De-Meter from 2011 to 2019, Michael pioneered the PACE Lease®, a scalable financing solution for clean energy projects. Additional roles include providing legal services at Sustainable Law Counsel, co-founding EcoCity Partners, and developing solar farms as a Partner at Carolina Solar Farms. Michael began legal career at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, establishing a corporate sustainability practice, and gained valuable experience as an intern at the SEC. Educational credentials include an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center and a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
