Paul Deng

Paul Deng is an experienced data scientist with a strong background in transportation modeling and demand forecasting. At Tesla from October 2020 to June 2023, Paul served as a Senior Data Scientist, developing a charging demand forecast model that optimized the expansion of the Supercharger Network globally. Prior to this role, Paul worked as a Data Scientist, managing ETL pipelines and conducting statistical analyses to support executive decision-making. Previous experience includes a consulting position at WSP in Canada, where Paul developed macro-level travel behavior models, and a research role at the University of Toronto focusing on freight transportation and logistics. Paul also interned as a Transportation Planning Analyst for the Region of Peel, maintaining travel demand forecasting models. Paul holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto.
