Ren Liu

Ren Liu is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, currently serving as a Senior Manager at Tesla since February 2016. Key contributions include leading the development of Optimus Robots, pioneering vehicle manufacturing processes for the Model Y, and initiating high-volume battery production lines for various electric vehicle models. Prior to Tesla, Ren held positions at Apple as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer and at Applied Materials as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where significant advancements in RF plasma module design were achieved. Ren holds a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
