Rutger Stoop

Rutger Stoop is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property and technology law. Currently serving as Senior Litigation Counsel for the Benelux region at Tesla since May 2025, Rutger previously held the position of Senior Associate and Lead Lawyer at DLA Piper from August 2022 to May 2025, recognized in Tier 1 rankings across multiple directories. Rutger's involvement in professional organizations includes membership in the Intellectual Property, Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Commission of AIJA and participation in the Legislation Committee of the Beneluxvereniging voor Merken- en Modellenrecht. With prior experience as a Senior Lawyer in Brinkhof N.V.'s Trademarks & Designs Practice and leadership roles in AIPPI’s Young Members Committee, Rutger has cultivated a strong reputation in the field. Educational background includes a Master of Science in Corporate Law and a Bachelor of Science in Dutch Law from Radboud University, complemented by an early internship focused on intellectual property law.
