Taisu Kumar

Taisu Kumar is a Staff Engineer at Tesla, where they are responsible for the safety and design of Energy products, focusing on battery runaway, electrical safety, and mechanical abuse scenarios. They previously held roles as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Tesla and a Senior Propulsion Analyst, contributing significantly to propulsion systems at SpaceX and Pratt & Whitney. Taisu's early career includes internships at Boeing and BD, as well as a research assistantship at Rutgers University’s Astrophysics Research Institute. They earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering from Cornell University, where they also participated in the Cornell Baja SAE Racing team as a Composites Sub-Team Member.
