Stephen Powell has had a diverse range of work experience. Stephen started working as a Mechanical Engineer at Tessco Technologies in January 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech from August 2012 to August 2016. During this time, they also served as the Fabrication Shop Coordinator at ICTAS, Virginia Tech, from November 2012 to June 2016. Additionally, they were a Capstone Senior Design Project Advisor at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Virginia Tech, from August 2012 to May 2013. Stephen's earlier experience includes working as a ME 3404 Fluid Mechanics Course Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech from August 2011 to May 2012.

Stephen Powell completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech from 2008 to 2012. Stephen then pursued further education and obtained a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution between 2012 and 2016. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications including Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) - Mechanical Design and Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) - Mechanical Design from Dassault Systèmes. Stephen has also passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam administered by NCEES.
