Channing Cooper

Channing Cooper has been in the legal field for over six years. In 2019, they began their role as General Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources at Tessemae's. Prior to this, they worked at the American Federation of Teachers from 2013 to 2019, where they held two roles. As Assistant Director, Attorney, they were responsible for ensuring the union’s and its affiliates’ legal compliance with federal, state and local employment and labor laws and regulations. Channing also advised senior executive management on employee discipline, grievances, contract negotiations, human resource policies, and other labor relations matters for staff bargaining units. In addition, Channing counseled union affiliates in contract negotiations. Her other role at the American Federation of Teachers was Senior Associate, Attorney.

Channing Cooper holds a Juris Doctorate from American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from New York University.
