Joann Lui, AIA is a founder and content marketing manager with experience in architecture, content strategy, and graphic design. In 2020, they founded The Getting Personal Newsletter. In 2021, they were a Senior Content Strategist at Monograph, where they managed organic content ideas, execution, repurposing, and distribution with 5x growth in page views. From 2014-2022, they worked at Gensler as an Associate Architect and Architect, co-managing and designing a 23-story office re-positioning project, performing construction documentation and administration on a 100k sf multi-floor workplace interior, and executing a $150 million office re-positioning project. From 2011-2014, they were a Junior Architect at LWDMR Architects, leading a 2-person team on construction documents and consultant coordination for a 5-story 45-unit condominium building. In 2010, they were an Intern Architect at Joshua Zinder Architecture + Design, creating 3 conceptual designs, renderings, diagrams, and a presentation booklet for a transportable shipping container sound theatre project. From 2007-2010, they were a Graphic Designer at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, designing posters and event collaterals for 15+ shows and executing show management including budget report, scheduling, and communication.
Joann Lui, AIA obtained their Bachelor degree in Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology between 2006 and 2011. In 2012, they obtained their LEED Green Associate certification from the USGBC. In 2015, they obtained their CDT certification from the Construction Specifications Institute. In 2020, they obtained their Women Transforming Tech: Building Your Brand certification from LinkedIn. Joann is also a member of the AIA New York | Center for Architecture.
