Founded in 2010, the Tetra String Quartet is an Arizona nonprofit organization that serves the community and empowers the next generation through performing and teaching chamber music. Tetra’s strong local presence engages audiences across metro Phoenix and reflects their belief that access to the arts is an essential human need. What began as a professional chamber ensemble has grown into a multifaceted organization serving thousands of young people annually through Azure Family Concerts, a free series for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder; Tempe Public Schools Chamber Music Residency; song/rapwriting workshops and concerts at the Durango Juvenile Detention Center; and the Tetra Chamber Music Institute, a year-round program fostering youth creativity, collaboration, interpersonal skills, and community service. Tetra also partners annually with organizations such as Act One and the Musical Instrument Museum to bring educational concerts to thousands of K–12 Title One students.

Tetra’s mission is to inspire, educate, and connect through music by meeting young people where they are, emotionally and creatively. Programs prioritize inclusivity, relationship-building, and artistic excellence, offering opportunities to learn, create, and perform regardless of socioeconomic background or prior access to arts education. Across all programs, music is used as a tool for self-expression, collaboration, and personal growth, fostering confidence, empathy, and a sense of belonging.
