Peter Berndt

Team Leader, Group Leader And Principal at Tetra Tech Coffey

Peter Berndt has extensive experience in the environmental consulting industry. Peter started their career at Groundwater Technology, where they began as a field technician and eventually advanced to project manager. In this role, they were responsible for conducting field activities, managing clients, overseeing budgets, and reviewing reports.

Peter later joined Coffey International Ltd, where they held several positions. As a Cost Controller, they were temporarily relocated to Chicago to work on a mercury remediation project. Peter conducted quality control inspections and later became a financial controller/reporter. Peter also served as the Airport Environmental Officer for the federal Department of Transport and Regional Services, regulating the environmental performance of federally controlled airports.

At Coffey International Ltd, Berndt was the National Shell Contract Manager, overseeing environmental site investigation services in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Pakistan. Peter provided contract support, monitored project deliverables, and assisted with report delivery.

Berndt then became the Petroleum Services Manager, monitoring company performance on national contracts with major oil companies. Peter worked with client managers to ensure project delivery aligned with contractual expectations and identified efficiencies. Lastly, they served as the State Manager for Coffey Enviro.

Throughout their career, Berndt has demonstrated expertise in team leadership, client management, strategic advisory, regulatory compliance, and project delivery.

Peter Berndt studied at the University of Adelaide from 1991 to 1994, where they pursued a degree in Science with a focus on Natural Resources Management and Policy.
