Eric Richmond has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Eric began their career as the President, Operations, and Sales at UniversityBuy.com from August 2010 to June 2011. Following this, they interned at the Ontario Liberal Fund, where they contributed to the development and implementation of the party's capital campaign. From April to June 2012, they worked as a University Lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, teaching a business course and conducting fieldwork for an Ivey Business School study.
In 2012, Eric served as an Advanced Statistics Consultant for the Tampa Bay Lightning, creating a new advanced statistic for evaluating NHL players. Eric also worked as a Lecturer's Assistant at Western University from September 2011 to April 2013.
Moving into the legal field, Eric joined Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP as an Articling Student and later became an Associate, advising clients on various corporate and capital markets transactions. Eric also provided guidance to blockchain and technology companies on early-stage financings and regulatory matters. During their time at the firm, they engaged in pro bono work, offering legal and strategic advice to organizations such as Autism Speaks Canada and Lay-up Youth Basketball Scholarship.
In 2018, Eric joined Coin Capital Investment Management Inc. as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, playing a key role in launching two ETF products and managing corporate governance matters. Eric then joined Coinsquare in 2020, initially serving as the Director of Business and Legal Affairs before being promoted to Vice President, Legal. Ultimately, they became the Chief Operating Officer, overseeing risk mitigation, transparency, and regulatory compliance for digital asset trading.
Continuing their involvement in the cryptocurrency industry, Eric co-founded Tetra Trust Company in 2019, serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder. The company specialized in custodial services for cryptocurrency assets.
Additionally, Eric has served as a Board Member for FRNT Financial since June 2020. Their vast experience in legal, finance, and cryptocurrency industries highlights their ability to adapt to various roles and contribute significantly to each organization they have worked with.
Eric Richmond has a diverse educational background. Eric attended Huron University from 2008 to 2010, where they pursued a degree in Business Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS). Following this, they enrolled at Western University and Ivey Business School from 2010 to 2014, simultaneously obtaining an HBA in Business and a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. During their time at Western University, they specialized in the field of Business/Commerce. Additionally, in 2013, they briefly studied Law at the University of Nottingham, further enhancing their legal knowledge.
