Mark Barteau

VP for Research at Texas A&M University

Mark Barteau is the Vice President for Research at Texas A&M University. Mark was previously the Director of the Energy Institute at the University of Michigan, where they also held the title of DTE Professor of Advanced Energy Research. Barteau began their career as the Senior Vice Provost for Research and Strategic Initiatives at the University of Delaware, where they also served as the founding director of the Energy Institute.

Dr. Mark Barteau is a chemical engineer who earned their Ph.D. from Stanford University. Mark also holds a master's degree in chemical engineering from Stanford.

They are on a team with Michael E. Fossum - COO, Texas A&M University, Galveston, Andrew P. Morriss - VP for Entrepreneurship & Economic Development, Dean of the I-School, and Alicia M. Dorsey - AVP, Academic Effectiveness & Planning. Mark Barteau reports to Mark H. Weichold, Interim Provost & EVP, Chief Academic Officer.
