Audrey Knight Carmical serves as the Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at the Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services since January 2021. Previously, Audrey held various significant roles within the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services from July 2005 to December 2020, including Associate Commissioner for Compliance, Coordination, and Strategy, General Counsel, Director of Policy and Program Support, and Policy Attorney. Audrey began expertise in legal matters as Assistant General Counsel at the Office of the Attorney General from 2002 to 2005, and gained initial experience as a Research Attorney at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals from August 2001 to July 2002. The educational background includes a law degree from The University of Texas School of Law (1998-2001) and a Bachelor of Arts in German and English from Northwestern University (1992-1996).
