Daniel T. Kistner

Dr. Daniel (Danny) T. Kistner is an accomplished public safety professional with over 40 years of experience, including nearly 14 years as a chief executive officer. As the Principal of DTK CONSULTING, LLC, since February 2023, Dr. Kistner specializes in coaching adaptive leadership, innovation, and organizational development in public safety. Currently serving as Lead Coordinator for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Associate Vice President of Recruitment Services at Clear Career Professionals, Dr. Kistner also holds a position as an Adjunct Instructor at Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. Previous roles include Fire Chief for the City of McKinney and City of Lufkin, where strategic leadership led to significant operational improvements and budget management. Dr. Kistner's academic credentials include a Doctor of Liberal Studies from Southern Methodist University, a Master of Science in Fire and Emergency Management Administration from Oklahoma State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Fire Service Administration from Western Oregon University.
