Texas Attorney General
Billy Cole serves as the Principal Deputy Solicitor General at the Texas Attorney General's Office since April 2021, overseeing daily operations and advising on legal strategy and policy. Previously, Billy held the title of Deputy Solicitor General, leading significant appeals in federal and state courts, and authored numerous briefs, including presenting cases before the United States Supreme Court. Prior experience includes serving as an Associate Attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where Billy secured a precedent-setting decision in state court, and as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Edith H. Jones in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Billy holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government from Pepperdine University.
