Gabriela I. Martinez is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in complex civil litigation and consumer protection. Currently serving as the Managing Attorney in the Consumer Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General's Office since August 2013, Gabriela oversees high-stakes lawsuits and represents the State of Texas in significant legal actions, including those under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Previously, as an Associate Attorney at Stephen W. Spurgin, Gabriela prepared appellate filings and legal briefs, including a petition for writ of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court. Early in the career, experience included a role as a Summer Associate at Brindle McCaslin & Lee, focusing on estate planning and corporate law, as well as providing legal assistance to low-income clients at the Lewis & Clark Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Gabriela holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Lewis & Clark Law School and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from The University of Texas at El Paso.
