Bilingual Victim Assistance Coordinator

Rachel Austin, MSCJ, currently serves as a Bilingual Victim Assistance Coordinator in the Human Trafficking and Transnational Organized Crime Division at the Texas Attorney General's Office since June 2022. Prior to this role, Rachel held positions as a Legal Assistant in the same division and as Bilingual Program Manager at Communities In Schools of Central Texas. Experience also includes serving as a Bilingual Child Advocacy Specialist at CASA of Travis County and a Child Protection Social Worker with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Rachel began a professional foundation as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Institute on Race and Justice at Northeastern University, focusing on human trafficking research and victim services. Educational achievements include a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Alabama, along with a Paralegal Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin.
