Jenna Owens

Jenna Owens is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in research and animal care. Currently serving as a Research Assistant and Monkey Enrichment Specialist at Texas Biomedical Research Institute since March 2023, Jenna also fulfills the role of Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at San Antonio since August 2020. Prior experience includes positions as an Animal Care Specialist and Section Lead at San Antonio Zoo, and Nature Expert at Zoolife. Jenna's career began with roles such as Editorial Assistant with the American Anthropological Association and various student assistant positions at James Madison University. Jenna holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology from The University of Texas at San Antonio, expected in 2026, and dual degrees in English and Biological Anthropology from James Madison University, completed in 2018.
