Eric Wood

Eric Wood currently serves as the Director of Counseling and Mental Health at Texas Christian University since June 2019, with prior roles at the same institution including Associate Director and Assistant Director of Counseling, Testing, and Mental Health. Wood has contributed to Forbes.com since September 2024 and holds an executive board position with the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors since October 2023. Additionally, Wood was President of the Texas University and College Counseling Directors Association from April 2023 to April 2024 and served as Dean of Health and Wellness at Grinnell College earlier in 2019. The educational background includes a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of North Texas and a BA in Psychology from The University of Texas at Dallas. Professional experience began with a pre-doctoral internship at Texas Tech University and includes several years as a staff therapist at Galaxy Counseling Center.
