Tammi Powell

Tammi Powell is an accomplished data professional with extensive experience in data governance, management, and architecture. Currently serving as Data Officer at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles since May 2022, Tammi leads the development and maintenance of the TxDMV Closed Data Portal while establishing an enterprise-wide data governance program. Prior roles include Enterprise Data Architect and Data Management Program Administrator at the Texas Department of Information Resources, where Tammi directed various data projects and developed statewide open data initiatives. Previous positions involve database administration at the Texas Water Development Board, as well as educational roles such as Librarian and bilingual elementary teacher. Tammi holds multiple degrees in Information Science and Spanish Literature from recognized institutions including the University of North Texas and The University of Texas at Austin.
