Ken Fickes has extensive experience in transit and economic development, currently serving as the Director of Transit Services for Harris County since 2004. Additionally, Fickes holds the position of Chairman of the Public Transportation Advisory Committee for the Texas Department of Transportation since 2018, where recommendations on funding and policy are made to the Texas Transportation Commission. Fickes has been a member of the Texas Economic Development Council since December 2004, and serves on various committees within the Houston-Galveston Area Council, including the Transportation Advisory Committee and the Transportation Air Quality Subcommittee, among others. Fickes previously worked as the Division Manager for Real Estate in the City of Houston's Housing and Community Development Department from 1997 to 2004 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Stephen F. Austin State University.
